Consumer research can provide a lot of answers to a co-op by determining your store's image among consumers (i.e., among both customers and non-customers); identifying consumer shopping/purchase habits and motivations; evaluating advertising awareness, recall and effectiveness, etc. Consumer research can be a very useful process by which consumers are given the opportunity to critically evaluate a co-op food store on a variety of issues (e.g., merchandising, operations, pricing, service, and so on). This information can help you to develop an "action plan" to serve your current customer base better, expand your customer base, or both. If you are currently contemplating what changes could or should be made at your store in order to improve its performance, and whether the implementation of these changes might have the unintended effect of alienating your current customer base, consumer research represents a valuable method of resolving these issues for you.
If you are looking for insights into the opinions and perceptions of your customers and non-customers in order to improve your store's sales performance, and want to discuss how consumer research can help you to accomplish this, feel free to contact me at (858) 227-0092 or at DebbieSuassuna@cdsconsulting.coop or Debbie@g2gresearch.com.
